I wish I\u2019d thought of this when I was teaching Hughes or using his poetry as a springboard for boys\u2019 own writing.<\/p>\n<p>You can find a compendium of translations of Rilke\u2019s poem at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thebeckoning.com\/poetry\/rilke\/rilke3.html\">http:\/\/www.thebeckoning.com\/poetry\/rilke\/rilke3.html<\/a> .The Mitchell version is one of the last.<\/p>\n<p>I won\u2019t give a link to the Hughes \u2013 there\u2019s something depressing about the sheer number of online explanations of \u201cThe Jaguar\u201d, especially for a blogger.
